Techno Camon 16 Premier Launching on September 3rd, Here is What We Know

0

Techno Camon 16 Premier will be launching on September 3rd, 2020, just 6 months since the launch of the Camon 15 Series. This according to the information released by the phone maker.

The first device in the series will officially be launched on 3rd September 2020 and thereafter, sales begin the following day on 4th September 2020.

Though the launch is already scheduled, we have scanty information about the specifications of the phone. However, a closer look at the device resembles the Infinix Zero 8, from the images we have gathered so far.

But from what we have seen between Techno and Infinix, the Techno Camon Premier is expected to have more or less the same specification, looks and even pricing to that of the Infinix Zero 8.  Usually the two companies release devices that compete with each other for the same market.

Moreover, a closer look at Camon 16 premier and Infinix Zero 8, shows that the phones look so much so that the front dual cameras have the same placement area. The same goes for the fingerprint scanner, which is on the side next to the volume keys. We also expect just like the Infinix Zero 8, the device will come with a 90Hz refresh rate.

Already, the company has already begun teasing the device with the tagline, “Pioneer King is here.” This however comes in the backdrop of the news that the company has been selling cheap devices in the African market, infected with malware that steals money from poor customers.

Here below are the expected specifications, based on what we have seen so far. Remember we will bring you the full specifications and price in Kenya once we lay out hands on the device.

Techno Camon 16 Premier Specifications.

  • 8GB RAM
  • 64/128GB storage options

  • 4500MAh battery
  • Fast charging between 25W and 33W

Safaricom’s ‘Browse Bila Waas’ To offer 500MB Free Data With Every No-Expiry Data

0

Safaricom has launched a new campaign that will see its customers enjoy free 500MB daily data bonus with every purchase of a personalized no-expiry data bundle.

The campaign dubbed ‘Browse Bila Waas’, seeks to empower Safaricom customers to enjoy more internet for less, on Kenya’s largest mobile network.

Customers both postpaid and prepaid will access their personalized data bundles by dialing *544# and choosing the first option which is “0” which unlocks the free 500MB.

This bundle will be available every day until 19th November 2020 in which customers will receive their free data valid until midnight of the same night.

Speaking during the launch, Safaricom’s CEO Peter Mbugua said, “Our ambition is to connect our customers to the opportunities presented by the internet by availing affordable data, expanding our 4G network and facilitating access to quality smartphones. The new data offer goes back to our promise to always provide our customers with more for less on Kenya’s best 4G network.”

Lipa Mdogo Mdogo Initiative

The ‘Browse Bila Waas’ campaign comes a month after Safaricom partnered with to provide low-cost 4G smartphones to Kenyans who are currently on 2G. The Lipa Mdogo Mdogo initiative targets over one million who will have to pay a daily repayment fee of Ksh.20.00

This comes at a time that the giant telco last year invested over Ksh. 36 billion in its network while drastically cutting its data rates through the introduction of No-Expiry Data bundles.

Safaricom continues to expand it 4G network across the country as it seeks to stamp its authority following the collapse of the Airtel-Telkom merger.

Equity Bank To Call You A Single Number 0763 000 000

0

If you are an Equity bank customer, moving forward, the bank will call you from a single number under the Equitel’s main prefix “0763”. All outgoing calls from equity will be from the number 0763 000 000.

The announcement was made today after the bank said that all outgoing communication to customers and other external stakeholders would be from a single number.

We have rolled out this number 0763 000 000 in our continued effort to improve customer experience. All our customers and stakeholders will easily now identify when their Bank is calling them whenever they see 0763 000 000 number displayed on their phone. Customers will continue to reach us through our 24 hours Contact Centre by calling 100 Call Centre number or 0763 063 000 Contact Centre number,” said Dr. James Mwangi, the Equity Group Managing Director, and CEO during the rollout.

This announcement comes as the bank focuses on rebranding itself. Initially, we saw its logo change, now it’s now branding itself as One Equity, a unified brand one-stop-shop offering integrated financial services provider under one roof. This goes hand in hand with its goal of unifying all its outbound communication to customers and external stakeholders.

This latest move as has been done by other major companies such as Safaricom, where communication is made from a single number, gives the customers confidence that they are getting communication from the bank thus wading off would-be scammers.

Dr Mwangi noted, “We invite our customers to note this number so that going forward, they will easily identify us when we call. Since the number is for outgoing calls only, customers will continue to call us through our contact center numbers. We would also like to remind our customers that the Bank will never call to ask for confidential customer information on the call. Customers should, therefore, be very alert of any caller that asks for confidential information such as passwords or Pin Numbers. Such callers are fraudsters and customers should immediately discontinue such calls and report such a number to the nearest police station,”

“Equity Bank has continuously invested in secure platforms and capability to fortify the relationship with customers. The bank obtained the prestigious global Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard 3.1 (PCI DSS 3.1) becoming the first bank in the country and one of the first banks in East Africa region. The certification affirms Equity’s adherence to international security standards related to the protection of customer information,” added Dr. Mwangi.

Equity Bank continues to make inroads in its innovation and digitization strategy that has seen its mobile and internet banking channels process 83% of all transactions, with agents and merchants processing 12% of transactions as of 30th June 2020.

Currently, 98% of all its transaction takes place outside physical banking halls, solidifying the Bank’s position as a digital financial service provider. With over 14 million customers across the region, the bank’s priority is its ability to enable customers to transact digitally and conveniently in a secure manner.
