Infinix Hot 10S Price in Kenya and Full Specifications

0

Infinix Hot 10S Price in Kenya: Infinix Mobile, the company behind the Infinix brand of phones, has added a new device to its HOT 10 series that it calls Infinix HOT10S.

The Infinix HOT 10S comes with advanced features unlike its predecessors the Infinix HOT10 Lite, Infinix HOT 10, and the Infinix HOT 10 play. Now we have the new Infinix HOT 10S

For the first time, the phone brings a 90Hz high refresh rate panel that enables the user to scroll smoothly and a fast response time.

That said, the company says that there will be two variants of the Infinix HOT10 S. The first variant comes with a Near Field Communication (NFC) while the other does not. For some specs, the variant without the NFC will feature 6GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage. The battery is a 6000mAh juicer.

On the other hand, the variant that has the NFC comes with 4GB RAM though the other specs are the same as those above.

The company says that it is pushing the HOT 10S as a gaming device due to its high refresh rate panel, the huge storage option, and the Helio G85 processor, and a 1GHz. Moreover, with an extra 6GB RAM, this device should offer a good gaming experience.

While the phone comes with a 6000mAh big battery, it will still be charging at 10W, which is a big letdown knowing that we are used to 18W fast charging.

The rear camera includes a new AI lens that enables users to take striking portraits even in dim surroundings. There is also a super night mode, which TECNO says helps capture exclusive moments enabling users to see their world brighter.

There is also Smile Snapshot; this incorporates facial recognition intelligence allowing the users to capture that perfect smile or a glimpsing moment in an instant. Things videos, Video Bokeh, natural Video Beautify and a Slow Motion shooting at 240fps provide the current generation with the chance to channel their inner photographer through these intelligently adapted features.

In terms of RAM and ROM, you get 4 GB RAM which comes with either 64GB or 128 GB ROM. At 5000mAh, the battery is massive and give you all the juice you need all day.

NCBA Bank To Auction Mombasa Firm Over Ksh.236 Million Debt

0

NCBA Bank seeks to action prominent transport and logistics company, Mombasa-based Shiva Carriers Ltd, Jagged Alliance Ltd and directors Deepak Madan and Raveej Deepak an over a KSh. 246 million debt.

This after the company failed to appear or file a defense in its petition seeking to repossess the property. The action is to be done by the NCBA Bank Group.

NCBA Bank Group also wants Spring Bank Investment Ltd, a firm owned by the directors, compelled to pay Sh. 50 million and interest at commercial rates, this can be seen in an article by a local daily, the Business Daily.

Moreover, in addition to the undertakings, the bank said in court papers that Jagged Alliance Ltd as a related company to Shiva Carriers Ltd gave a guarantee and undertaking of Sh. 263 million. NCBA Bank also told the court that Spring bank also offered its parcel of land as security for the loan  in the year 2011 and 2015

NCBA Bank says that “it had advanced Shiva Carriers Ltd various loans in March 2009, September 2012, August 2014, April 2015, and November 2017.  As directors and shareholders of Shiva, Mr. Madan, and Mr. Deepak acted as guarantors of the loans, giving three separate guarantees on diverse dates.”

Already NCBA Bank has repossessed trucks and trailers it financed. As this happened, the company filed a care at the High Court in Mombasa in 2017 to block the repossession and any auctioning or its property. The firm then withdrew the petition through a notice dated October 3, 2019.

However, even after withdrawing the petition in a notice dated October 3, 2019, the company continued to default according to what NCBA Bank told the Court.

NCBA Bank told the court, “Since the withdrawal of the suit, Shiva Carriers Ltd has continued to default in repaying the banking facilities as contracted or at all.”

5 Cheapest Cars In Kenya To Buy On Tight Budget

0

So what are the cheapest cars in Kenya you can buy? Many of my clients and friends have often asked that common question me.

The good news is that with anything below Ksh. 600K you are guaranteed to have a very good cheap car in Kenya.

To be exact, even below Ksh.500K, you can get yourself a four-wheel and this can go to as low as Ksh. 200K. However, as those who have four wheels often say, a car is necessary evil, you have to factor in other costs that you currently do not have such as the car insurance, fuel costs, the many trips you will make to the garage and depreciation. Yes, your car will lose value faster than you can imagine.

Again, deciding to buy a car is one thing, but maintaining it is another. Before you decide to spend your hard-earned money you really need to be sure that your investment will be an investment and not a liability.

So what are the cheapest cars in Kenya? Let us find out.

Cheapest Cars in Kenya for anything below Ksh. 700K

Toyota Belta

To start us off is the Toyota Belta, a common car on the Kenya roads. This car comfortably fits into the 300K-700K bracket.

It closely resembles the Toyota Vizt from the engine capacity to the horsepower, the only difference being that it is a saloon car. It is one of the cheapest car in Kenya.

Toyota Vitz

So common is the Toyota Vitz car on Kenyan roads you would think that it is assembled here. Seemingly, it is the first car that most people own before upgrading. Very similar to the Toyota Belta, its engine has a 1000cc capacity.

It is a favorite of the ladies but if you looking for your first car, who cares. With a budget of between 400K and 700K, you should be able to drive this baby.

Nissan Cube

To be honest I dint like this car, the shape just does not go down well with me. However, as the saying goes, one many food is another many poison.

The Nissan cube is a mini multi-purpose vehicle that has been around for about 12 years. It is a small car with a small engine capacity. This should comfortably fit into your small budget.

Toyota IST

I must admit that among the cars I am writing about today, I have a soft spot for the Toyota IST as the cheapest car in Kenya.

Many of the units you see on Kenya roads are imports from Japan and the United Kingdom. For fuel consumption, this will not hurt your pocket. Its engine is a 1.3-liter cylinder or 1.5-liter cylinder. One thing I like about it is its 5 doors.

However, this car is more expensive than those I have listed above and will set your bank account back for 400K and up to 1Million shillings.

Honda Fit

Finally yet importantly is the Honda Fit, which is among the best cheapest cars in Kenya. This is a procuct of Honda from Japan. It comes with 5 Seats and a fuel engine capacity of 1.2-liter to 1.5-liter.

With a budget of Ksh.600K and above, you can own this beauty that is darling of many in Kenya.

Conclusion

Honda Fit, Toyota Vitz, Toyota IST, Nissan Cube, and Toyota Belta are among the finest cheapest cars in Kenya.

If you are tight on budget and are just starting out, these are among the best in the market today. However, be careful as you search for your first car.

If possible avoid second-hand cars within and if your budget allows import it yourself or let a reputable dealer do it for you.

Jambojet Increases Fare Amid High Demand for Mombasa-Western Kenya Route

0

Jambojet increases fare: Jambojet has increased the fare on Kisumu-Mombasa and Eldoret-Mombasa to Ksh.15100 as demand for air travel increases due to the current curfew imposed in the disease infected counties of Nairobi, Kiambu, Kajiado, Machakos and Nakuru.

Travelers from Mombasa to Eldoret or Kisumu have to pass through the locked counties by road or rail. With this option now not available unless one goes through Mt. Kenya region, most travelers are choosing to travel by air.

The surge in air travel is attributed to the current lockdown, which has affected the counties listed above. Are a result, the western region of the country has been cut off by road and rail from the coast region.

According to Jambojet, which operated five weekly flights on the routes, has now increased the frequency to 11 due to the high demand. The demand, the company said increase over the weekend as most people ate opting to travel by air the bear the curfew.

Initially, a passenger travelling from Mombasa to Eldoret and Kisumu to Mombasa last week Friday paid Sh15,100 for one way with the weekdays cost ranging between Sh10,100 and Sh13,100.

The initial fare was Ksh. 8000.00

This is almost the fair paid initially on the route, as the average ticket would cost about Ksh. 8000.00 before the lockdown was imposed.

The airline said, “We have maintained the flights that we had added on the route during Easter because the demand is still there. We see that people who used to connect via Nairobi are now flying direct because of restriction on movement in and out of Nairobi, keeping up the demand on these routes.”

The airline said that it was keen to increase the number traveling on these routes as it seeks to encourage the use of air travel within the country.

Since the presidential directive to lockdown the five counties two weeks ago, all travel out of the region has been paralyzed. Some people had hoped that the region would be opened as candidates currently sitting their KCSE exams would need to travel. However, this hope was quickly dashed last week as the government directed School Principals to issue letters to traveling candidates and that such should travel with their school uniform. Jambojet increases fare.

Airtel 5G Network On, Taking On Safaricom

0

You heard that Safaricom was launching the 5G network in Kenya with an initial launch set for Nairobi and Western Kenya. Now Airtel has announced that it has upgraded some of its sites with the fifth-generation (5G) mobile Internet services.

This move is the latest the company is taking as it ups its war against telecom giant Safaricom, for a share of the business that according to pundits is set to change the way we do things.

According to Airtel, the move would see it capitalize on the rising mobile internet demand in the country, a move that happens after Safaricom announced the same plans.

In an interview with the Business Daily, Airtel Kenya managing director Prasanta Das Sarma said, “These 600 sites are now 5G-ready. We do not have to make any further modifications to the network. We will just get the spectrum and decide when to switch on.”

Airtel is the second-largest mobile company in Kenya and at a 26.5 % stake in the mobile data segment, it seeks to boost its data business. Recently, there has been an uptake of data due to the COVID-19 pandemic that has forced businesses and other work to be done from home.

The Kenyan unit of India’s Bharti Airtel says it has over 600 sites in Nairobi, Mombasa, and Malindi on the 5G network.

700 Megabytes of Speed

The 5G network promised to give its consumers up to 700 megabits per second of internet speed, which is three times what we get on the 4G network. It can download a movie in seconds.

This will be advantageous to businesses and homes not connected to the fiber network. As a result, many more people could work from the comfort of their houses.

Both Safaricom and Airtel are eying the mobile data market as research shows that more Kenyans are connecting to the internet via their smartphones. Safaricom leads the mobile data segment at 67.6%. Apart from Airtel, other players in the mobile data segment are Faiba by Jamii Telkom and Telkom Kenya.

Already Safaricom has launched the 5G network in five counties including Kisumu, Kisii, and Nairobi.  It seeks to expand its high-speed internet to 150 sites in nine urban centers in the next 12 months.

Both Airtel and Safaricom are aiming to rev up their data business to offset sluggish growth in mobile calls, where they are seeing a small revenue growth due to saturation.

Airtel 5G Compatible handsets

To access the 5G network, subscribers will need to acquire new handsets that are compatible with the 5G before they can enjoy the service.

Currently very few Kenyans own the 5G phones, which are expensive. Most of these devices retail from Ksh. 40000.00 while an average smartphone with 4G capabilities in the market cost about Ksh. 15000.00.

The advantage of the 5G is that there will not be network congestion as downloads and upload speeds would ease up the congestion.

“The 5G handsets right now are obviously very costly and see few buys. We feel that a reasonable price will start coming in one and a half to two years,” said Mr. Sarma.

He added, “That is the time we feel we will be able to switch on our 5G network. But if things happen faster, we are ready for it.”

He however said that the company is not in a rush to switch to 5G due to the high cost of smartphones that connect to the network.

Airtel is betting on data and hopes the increased smartphone usage will boost revenues and push up its profitability. Recently, Airtel has been gaining market share in the data segment over Safaricom in recent years.

For instance, Airtel’s subscriber market share on mobile data users jumped to 26.5 percent at the end of December, from 15.7 percent in September of 2017.

The number of mobile data users in Kenya increased to 43.7 million in December from 30.6 million in September 2017, according to the Communications Authority of Kenya.

After opposition leader Raila Odinga, now Uhuru’s brother lost in the 2017 elections, he urged his supporter to boycott Safaricom products a move that helped Airtel gain more numbers.

By launching the Airtel 5G, Airtel Kenya now gives subscribers the option to choose from itself or its biggest rival Safaricom.

Suez Canal Blockage: Why Delivery of Goods from Europe Could Delay.

0

Suez Canal Blockage: Importers have been told to brace for delivery delay of goods from Europe.  This announcement was made by the shipping lines warning the importers in the country would see a delay in the arrival of goods and services from Europe.

This delay has been due to the blockage of the Suez Canal by a giant Japanese container ship called the Ever Given. The Ever Given is a 430-yard ship (400 meters) that is blocking the transit of goods and services on both directions of the Suez Canal, one of the busiest canals in the world that connects Europe, East Africa, and Asia. The canal is a major transit for oil, grain, and other trade items.

The world’s second busiest shipping line, the Mediterranean shipping Line, has warned that it expects to see some missing sailings in the future but denied that it had suspended booking worldwide due to the closure of the Suez Canal.

Other shipping line have also warned of disruption in the supply after more than 230 vessels were reported to have been stranded on both sides of the canal, where the Japanese Ship has been stuck since last Tuesday.

Shippers Council of East Africa Chief Executive Officer Gilbert Lagat said that the blockage would affect the East Africa supply chain. However he noted that the effect would be minimal sine the importation season is at its lowest.

The blockage has also affected importers of commodities such as tea from the port of Mombasa to Europe as most of the product is chipped via the Suez Canal.

Last week, the USA offered to help Egypt to unblock the Suez Canal blockage thereby allowing the flow of vessels within the canal.

  • Third is the Infinix Hot 10 Play, the device we are talking about, with 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, a 6.82-inch HD+ display, an Helio G35 Processor, and a 6000mAh battery with 10W charging. This one costs Ksh.15499.00.

Comparing Infinix Hot 10 Play with the others in the series, it can be easily be seen that the Infinix Hot 10 Play comes with more RAM and battery power. However, on the downside, the phone downsized the processing power from Helio G70 in the Hot 10 to just half the size with Helio G35. The 10Wcharging is common on all the phones which seems little for the series.

In matters colors, the phone is available in Aegean Blue, Morandi Green, Obsidian Black, or Purple.

To buy one, you can get them at Safaricom shops, Jumia, Xpark, and selected Infinix outlets across the country.
