Jambojet, a low-cost regional carrier has begun direct flights between the cities of Mombasa to Kisumu and Eldoret.
Jambojet Acting Managing director, Karanja Ndegwa said that direct flights between the cities of Mombasa, Kisumu and Eldoret, would be key to connecting business people and holidaymakers, who would henceforth be able to fly to the three destinations with ease.
Karanja Ndegwa was speaking during the official launch of the flights at the Kisumu International Airport. He noted that the direct flights would have 73 passengers on-board the flight from Mombasa. While flights out of Kisumu and Eldoret would be full to capacity.
Jambojet to boost Tourism and Economy.
Speaking also during the launch, Mrs. Dorothy Nyong’o, Kisumu’s County first lady said, “The direct flights will be an integral part of boosting the economy and tourism sector in our county.
This development comes less than three months since Jambojet began operations in the country amid partial reopening of the economy brought about by the effects of COVID-19.
Currently, Jambojet operates to destinations such as Mombasa, Ukunda, Malindi, Kisumu, and Eldoret from its hub at the Wilson Airport in Nairobi.
Moreover, the airline collaborated with various players in the travel industry and launched an ongoing campaign dubbed “Now Travel Ready” to encourage domestic travel as the country slowly begins to recover from the effects of the novel coronavirus.
Travel who wish to travel with Jambojet can get their ticket via platforms such as Progressive Web App, at Jambojet sales offices, call centers, and travel agents. Tickets can also be bought on its official website. The inaugural flight began on 2nd October 2020, with a ticket going for Ksh 8900.00 on way introductory fee.
