Coast Bus: Booking, Destinations and Contacts

Coast Bus 1

In the recent past, I have been writing a lot about bus bookings in Kenya. Today I am going to write about Coast bus and how to book online (because that is likely, what you are looking for.)

In case you missed it, you can read about the following bus companies and learn how to book your ticket online.

Each of the links above will take you to pages of other bus companies that you may want to consider if you are traveling.

Having said that, let us delve deeper and understand Coast Bus.

So who are coast bus?

This bus believes in its slogan, ‘that they lead and others follow.’

I do not know whether this is the literally or not. However, what I know is the fact that it is a major player in the transport industry in Kenya. Apart from offering passenger service, the also offer care hire and courier services.

Coast Bus Destinations

Just like most bus companies in Kenya, they specialize on certain routes. Let us have a look.

From MOMBASA they operate to

  • Nairobi
  • Kisumu
  • Kitui
  • Kakamega
  • Bungoma.

As seen, they operate from their base in Mombasa to the listed town and cities in Kenya.

Here is how their schedule looks like.

From the schedule above, it should be noted that, the company has 4 bus types, that is Coast Air, Executive, AC Class and Mwananchi.

Where there is a dash in the schedule, it means that no bus services are available.

Booking

Though they say they ‘lead while others follow’, Coast Bus has no online booking portal (Though most bus companies in Kenya have not embraced online booking). This to me seems to be the downside of this bus company that markets itself as a leader in the transport industry.

Booking links on its website are not working and to make matters worse, the site does not provide information about bookings.

So what should you do?

Seemingly, there are two options here. Firstly, you have to visit its offices physically to make a booking. The other option is to call and again place your booking.

I have labored to get you the contacts that you can use to book your ride.

How does it feel like to travel on Coast Bus?

Unfortunately, I have not had firsthand experience traveling on Coast Bus. The closer I have come close to the bus is when I tried booking from Nakuru to Nairobi. I was not successful; I was told that I could only book a ticket to Mombasa.

Apparently, I could not book a ticket to a destination in between the route to which the bus was operating on.

Nevertheless, I have several images that can give you a glimpse of what to expect once on board. Here is an image of the interior of the bus.

The Interior Of Coast Bus

The seats look comfortable but not out of the ordinary. I got this picture of one of their buses and I was impressed.

Have a look.

Coast Air Bus

Moreover, they have amenities such as high speed WiFi, Air Conditioning and power outlets. However, this is expected of a bus company of their caliber.

As for the travel experience, I have no idea. If you have ever traveled on this bus company, you can leave a comment in the comment section below detailing your experiences.

Conclusion

This bus company has been around for aver 56 years and if experience was to be measured by the number of years they have been on the road, then this company takes the lead.

If you have been on board, we would love to hear your story. Be sure we will give you all the credit and share the same to the world. If you are traveling, please be safe to your final destination.
