Classic Luxury Shuttles Booking and Destinations

0

Classic Luxury Shuttle and not to be confused with a Classic Shuttle is a shuttle service that operates from its base on Mfangano Street in Nairobi to various destinations to Western Kenya.

Its direct competitors on the route are Blueline Shuttles, Eldoret Express, Mash Poa, Easy Coach and Dreamline buses.

The Shuttles carry a maximum of 11 passengers with some comfortable seats, though on this comfortable is a relative term to use.

However, they call themselves luxury shuttles, there nothing luxury about them, they are just like any other typical Matatus you will find on Kenyan Roads.

For starters, they do not have charging ports, not Wi-Fi onboard, and no onboard entertainment. If you are lucky, the driver will play some music repeatedly throughout the journey.

Classis Luxury Shuttle Destinations

As I said earlier, they operate from their base in the Central Business District of Nairobi City on Mfangano Street. From here, their destinations include but not limited to;

  • Lessos
  • Kapsabet
  • Shamakhokho
  • Baraton
  • Sabatia
  • Chavakali
  • Kakamega
  • Mumias
  • Busia
  • Muhoroni
  • Luanda
  • Kisumu

I have been using Classic Luxury shuttles quite often, and though I have listed several destinations, their main destination in Kapsabet. Should you board one and expect to get to a destination beyond Kapsabet, you are likely to find yourself in a mess. If you are going to destinations such as Shamakhokho, Chavakali or Kakamega, I would advise that you take the Blueline shuttle or better still Easy Coach.

Classic Luxury Shuttle Booking

Like typical Matatus, they have to online booking portal. You have to walk to their offices on the day of travel and hope that you will find yourself a seat. Moreover, due to this, they do not have any timetable. They only leave once the vehicle is “full.” The only good thing about this is that since they are only 11 seaters, this can happen so fast.

However, from their Facebook page, they say that you can book in advance by calling the number 0728947385. I tried calling the number twice, but nobody was picking up. You can try too and give us your experience.

Moreover, they also do not have fixed fares, but the amount you pay will depend on wether there is traffic or not. If there be more people traveling, the fare shoots to up to double the normal fares.

Classic Luxury Shuttle Reviews

As a norm, I always bring you what customers are saying so that you can decide for yourself whether this is a shuttle, you should consider taking.

First is what a customer Sharon Adika Says:

I am a disappointed customer…..my parcel was sent yesterday 6/6/2020 at 8a.m from Kapsabet.  I was told to pick it by 5PM, up to these night 7/6/2020 my parcel is yet to be delivered I have made a thousand rounds to and fro from town but in vain…..I have several numbers that I got from your website and one from your office but each and every person has her/his own story of where the vehicle is…..my question is

  1. Why do you write receipts that have customer’s details
  2. Do you have a channel of communication when delays occur
  3. Some of your employees are so rude
  4. In case of damage to my parcel, what is your response because my luggage was perishable and by the time am getting it there will be nothing to smile about? Kindly we need your response on what happened from date 6/6/2020 to 8/6/2020 when am expecting to receive my luggage.

Here is what Sandra Mugodo says:

I sent a parcel with classic luxury shuttles yesterday at 10.am explaining the urgency of its delivery only for it never to arrive forcing the receiver to make another trip to town then they say the driver never arrived and slept elsewhere with the parcel. Calling their Nairobi office, the ladies receiving the calls are very arrogant, rude and unapologetic. No PR skills at all.

I will forever discourage anyone who tries to use your services.

From those two reviews, maybe you can decide for yourself what is good for you. Please note that I have just given you the reviews as they are without editing for you to get the tone of the writer.

Often I advise using a particular service for yourself, this way you can have the experience first-hand and know what to do next time.

There are also offices in all other towns and cities the shuttles travels to.

Conclusion

You may need to consider Classic Luxury shuttles if you traveling to Western Kenya via Kapsabet, especially if going to Country Bus Station is a no go place to you.

If you have ever used this shuttle, then we will be glad to hear what your experience was like.

He added that, “Entry-level smart-feature devices constitute about 40% of phones sold in Kenya, affirming their acceptance and popularity; due to longer-lasting batteries and the ability to pick signal faster in areas that are underserved with regard to connectivity.”

Here below is Telkom’s press release ….

Nairobi, September 8, 2020: Telkom has launched the Kaduda 4G Phone Series, the latest instalment in the Kaduda series that premiered successfully with Kaduda 1, the Kaduda Selfie and the Kaduda Smart. The Kaduda series are smart feature phones retailing at accessible price points which enable more customers to access the Internet.

The first of three devices is the T-Smart, retailing at KSh. 3,100. It runs on KaiOS Technology (KaiOS is part-owned by Google) that supports smart-phone applications like Facebook, WhatsApp and Youtube. The T-Smart will help address the growing demand for competitively-priced Internet-enabled devices. T-Smart will enable users to access the Internet via Wi-Fi and 3G/4G/LTE.

A rise in demand for more smart devices has been occasioned by the accelerated digital transformation that is being witnessed across the globe, and which has made more peope and businesses increasingly adopt the use of automated and digitised platforms. This digital transformation is particularly important within the telecommunications sector, creating an increased demand for broadband, connectivity, and digital platforms, by individual consumers, corporates, and the public sector.

Steve Okeyo, Telkom’s Managing Director for Consumer says:

“The Kaduda 4G is a significant upgrade in the Kaduda series that will allow more of our customers to have access to additional features and applications not seen in the previous devices.”

A current Telkom subscriber who purchases the T-Smart will receive a free daily introductory bundle of 100 MB of data to browse the Internet. They will also receive another free 100 MB of Data to access WhatsApp as well as another free 100 MB of Data to access Facebook. 100 minutes to call within the Telkom network also form part of this bundled offering, which will be renewed daily for a whole one month.

First-time subscribers to Telkom who purchase the T-Smart, and top-up their line with KSh 50 or more, will receive free 50 MB of Data to browse the Internet, another free 50 MB of Data to access WhatsApp as well as free 50 minutes of call within the Telkom network, daily, for the first 30 days. This offer will be replicated in the second month should the first-time subscriber maintain a top-up of KSh 100. The same free offer will also be extended to the subscriber’s third month on the network, if they top-up another KSh 100 or more.

The T-Smart will be available in all Telkom shops, countrywide, from Wednesday, September 9, 2020.

Mr. OKEYO adds:

“Entry-level smart-feature devices constitute about 40% of phones sold in Kenya, affirming their acceptance and popularity; due to longer-lasting batteries and the ability to pick signal faster in areas that are underserved with regard to connectivity.”

According to the Global Mobile Economy 2019 report, mobile Internet users in Africa in 2018 stood at 239 million (a penetration rate of 23%). These numbers are projected to rise to 483 million, translating to a 39% penetration rate by 2025. Overall, unique mobile subscribers on the continent are projected to rise from 456 million (in 2018) to 625 million; about half of the continent’s population, by 2025.

Last month, Telkom unveiled its new strategic focus areas that will address the current transformational dynamic as well as Telkom’s long-term objectives, as it work towards becoming a thriving integrated Telco provider, and the technology company of the future.

Telkom also restructured its business to reflect this new strategic direction, enabling it to sharpen its efficiencies, with respect to service provision and overall customer experience. This business restructuring will also enable Telkom to partner more strategically with like-minded entities, for example, in the telecommunications, technology and financial services sectors, with the end game being to become the technology partner of choice to its consumers, private and public sector clients.
